Leeds as a city is an ultimate foodies dream, we have so many incredible restaurants all over the city but sometimes it's good to venture a little further out - Bingley to be precise! I got invited to try out the new menu at the Potting Shed in Bingley. From the outside The Potting Shed looks like any other pub but as soon as I stepped inside I was very pleasantly surprised.
First of all it's much bigger than it looks from the outside. Secondly it's just wasn't at all what I was expecting from a small town pub. The interior design looks rustic and hip at the same time in the way that only city bars usually look! The garden theme runs throughout the bar, there's a lot of wood, a lot of plants, upcycled furniture, artificial grass and fairy lights. The garden feel really comes to life in the Garden Terrace bar.
Okay so onto the food and drinks. Everyone who knows me knows that I loooooove cocktails. However, I am rather picky, it can't be too sweet, it can't be too sickly, the list goes on, however the cocktails we had at the potting shed were absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. One of them was called 'Chelsea Rose' and it came in the most adorable tea cups.
The food, there was so much food! I have to say me, the boy and some of the other lovely bloggers who were there left in an absolute food coma. If you have been reading my blog for a while you'll know that unfortunately I have a gluten intolerance. The menu at the Potting Shed features pizzas, burgers, chicken goujons and many other delicious but sadly glutinous things. However, they informed me that if someone with an intolerance rings up in advance they can cook something up to cater for a food intolerance and that's exactly what they did for me. They prepared me a starter which consisted of flavoursome tomato sauce and prawns and a very fresh chicken, avocado and quinoa salad. I also had a very big helping of the nachos loaded with cheese and pulled pork which came with a helping of homemade salsa, guacamole and sour cream. They were absolutely delicious and I must insist that you try them if you visit the potting shed.
They also served up generous helpings of sweet potato and potato fries and wedges along with pizzas and a variety of burgers. One of their burgers is called the Yorkshire Burger which is made up of a beef patty, Yorkshire blue cheese and served in Yorkshire puddings! I was told it was rather delicious. I tried some of the beef patties without the bread and the meat was juicy and full of flavour.
The pizzas we got served looked great and I was told that they tasted great too!
I really enjoyed my visit to The Potting Shed and if you're ever in Bingley that is absolutely a spot you must try out!
* I was invited for complimentary food but as always my opinion is 100% my own.*
